Actually the Volvo D2-40 uses a 1-3/4" exhaust

At least the one I bought last May does. Nice engine other than that. I also shied away from the Yanmar engines because of the larger exhaust size. So far I like the Volvo D2-40 a lot except for one thing. The electrical connections for the panel are finicky.
