But I think your best bet is to replace the components as needed, unless the system just isn't working or you can't get parts. I'm not up to date on all the options, but the Strong track gets good reviews from others.

The advantage of ball-bearing cars in combination with a full-batten main is that you can reef while running downwind. That's a big safety feature in a multihull (requirement, IMHO). Just imagine being overpowered downwind at 10+ knots boat speed, and rounding up. The ~20 knots increase in apparent wind speed could put you over.
