The usual site of "destruction" is at one of the longer full-length battens; or at the head (if you're a "flutterer" with the head of the sail).

IF the problem is at the battens (usually the bottom two), then you might consider having your sailmaker sew two slides with a Spectra tie between them to help the batten "rotate"
