Just bypass you prior connection from the Seatalk unit directly to and from the battery, temporarly. Then if it works, you can do it inside the boat. You'd just twenty feet of #12 or #14 wire for the little Seatalk's 5 AMP Load. Connect to the battery (bypassing everthing else). Then try the same shut-off of the engine. If it works, you know for sure.
