I lumped them together only for placement and weight. I guess the idea came to mind as a J was sunk after being hit by a whale in the Newport to Enseneda race a couple of years ago and then the Hunter in the race this year.

Whales do sink boats but I'll stick with my position that bullet proof or steel is stronger than a vessel made for performance that has weight as one of the primary considerations.

So,, a Valiant's hull isn't stronger than a Hunter in a collision? That's a tough one to swallow.
