Teak was only a word.. Cherry is a nice interior.
In Response To: A lot more than this? ()

Not teak. My favorite all time boat is a Tartan 44 which has a cherry interior. I just don't like Formica walls, countertops and a phoney sole. I was playing around with the concept of a hard dodger like on a Trintella and moving the traveler to an arch on a J120, that would be nice.

I like Steve Dashiew's designs but it's all Formica on the interior. I don't understand as you can put veneer and Corian on it and it will look great without extra weight.

Wante to post a photo of the interior of our Gulfstar but just can't figure it out on the IPad. All that weight of solid wood makes her slow but I like the interior. On the other hand,,I'd have a lot more fun on a J120 as we motor too much for my liking. ( we did buy a motor sailor ). I've had friends tell me that adding extra weight on a J would defeat the purpose but I disagree and don't care if it would slow it down as I don't wish to enter races and it will still do well in 8 knots at 35 degrees. ( a lot better than ours that's for sure. ). We can only do 4 in 10 and at that speed with 80 miles to go we start the engine. Wouldn't do that on your boat.
