Leaves recognizable debris. The tracking signals make it clear that the DEVICE ended-up on the Island's headwall. Unless it was something "goofy", that's where the boat would have "hit".
I'm not sure why the debris hasn't been located -- but that could be that the search just missed it in the murky, current driven waters.
There would pieces of a mast (which could be moved around a lot by currents) -- however, the engine and main portions of the remaining hull should be somewhere.
I personally would find it hard to believe that the boat would have moved away with some of the crew AND not have used lights, flares, VHF radios, EPIRB, or other devices to call for help.
