By that I mean that some of the prep was done at home in advance. For example we often make up sauces and take cooked chicken. Those things take a lot less room than the ingredients to make them. We do make everything from scratch and do not buy any prepared food. We actually eat quite lightly on board. The bulkiest items are bottles of wine and beer. One bottle of wine for each day and two beers for each day. The beer is generally consumed after we arrive from the day's sailing and have the anchor down
