There have been a few mapping glitches but the audio directions more than makes up for that so far in New England and the Pacific Northwest.
The sharing of calendar, notes, and other info has gotten more seamless with iOS6, also worthwhile for me.
I also really like the way Apple TV/iPhone/Mac and (now for me Dish Network) work well together.
I'm still getting used to improvements in the Notifications systems. There's a lot to be tweaked to personal taste, such as the do not disturb feature. I have Quakes set to warn me of big events within a few hundred miles, for example. Might help a little in a tsunami situation.
That said, apparently the new Maps is really bad in some places.
Back to boating, the Navionics charting remains very useful, though didn't need latest phone or OS to benefit.
Glad the other platforms are there to keep Apple honest, however.
