I like Apple products

They're very pretty and simple. If that's what you think is important it's a good choice.

However, when they don't "just work" it's like trying to fix a car that has its hood welded shut. Rant: Before the iPhone I never would have though a consumer products company could sell a (high-value, non-throw-away) item that didn't have a user-replaceable battery. Now people just shrug their shoulders and pay $100 to send off their precious devices (that contain all their precious data) for a battery change. Amazing.

BTW you can secure your data in iOS if you turn off "simple passwords" and require a password to use the device. That will encrypt the memory too. If Simple Passwords are allowed the data is not encrypted.

What iOS doesn't do is multi-user security. Anyone who has user-level access to the device can see ALL the data unless it's in a password-locked app.
