The problem is, I have to "interpret" the docx files she gets for her work as a freelance book copyeditor. (I don't even have Word . . . Apple Pages)
She'll be getting a new machine soon, and she'll have to get a new version of Microsoft Office. She basically types . . has no use for Exel or Power Point or 98% of the capabilities of Word. Why does she have to get Office Suite?
What I hate is this business of having to constantly upgrade, and I don't think that's purely an Apple thing. Google says they won't support my browser. Because of my work, I have to get an upgrade to InCopy, which is part of Adobe CS6. That means I have to up my OS to the highest Snow Leopard. Or Lion. And they are already on Mountain Lion.
