my cable has to pass through a small hole in the bottom of the (keel step) mast, so the connector/plugs were out. I ultimately resolved back to the terminal strip, which I put in a nice J-box made by Vellman (I think was suggested by Mainesail on this Board). I wound up using #6 (I think) terminal rings, not spades. I think I even soldered the small wire, I probably doubled it inside the connector sleeve, and then a small piece of heat shrink over that. I understand the cons of solder, but taking these on & off twice a year gives me a chance to check, clean up bright the connections and coat with silicon grease, T9 or whatever.
