I'm in California. I was going to fly to Annapolis in March to fix it when I put it in the water but decided to just let Post Annapolis do it. How much could it cost?
I throughly expected them to just loosen the shaft from the coupler, pull it back, insert the new seal and put it back together. I don't know why they removed the shaft, Maxprop, hoses, etc. 13.75 hours at $90.00 seems a bit much and is 4 hours more than Hinckley spent for all their work which included a new shaft and servicing the Maxprop plus removing and installing the new shaft, Lasdrop & new coupler. Of course, Hinckley screwed up. Hell, Lasdrop screwed up as well.
Should have just purchased a PYI but went on Starzingers recommendation. It is suppose to be a better dripless than the PYI.
I'm going to give Bernie a call to see if he has any suggestions other than just crossing my fingers and eating all the cost. Roguewave is brokering the boat.
