Steve, this fan is the one used for cooling the condenser. The unit I installed was set-up as a air/water cooled one and after I installed the water cooling pump the fan quite. Both the fan and water cooling pump were to work in tandem--you know, twice the amperage, but the box is cooled down in half the time. They work on the same circuit, so I assumed that with the additional pull of the pump, something in the fan didn't tolerate it. Yes, it should have--the pump only draws 2 amps while the can draws hardly anything.
