Depending on the type of couplers the refer mfr used seperating them may destroy your system.
There are self sealing connectors and there are also connectors that pierce a seal and once assembled cannot be disassembled. The lubricant used with the new refrigerant cannot get any moisture in it. If it gets damp, even from the humidity in the air it becomes acidic and damages the compressor. If you were to open the refrigerant circuit and let the refrigerant out you will also need a refer technition to vacuum down the system and replace the refrigerant.
So, be sure of what you have before touching it.
Now, is it possible that while you were working on adding the pump you damaged the fan wires at the terminal? Before you decide that the fan must be replaced strip some insulation off the wire an inch or two from the terminals and apply power there. That type of fan is designed to run for many thousands of hours and it is too much of a coincidence that it failed right after you added the pump.
