I would think that as long as it has the correct connector it will work. The trick is getting a good one and I have no idea which is good. The one we purchased was just a PVC tube (probably made by some guy in his garage) with connector for $12.00 (2006). We also purchase a 25' extension cable.

Our 8DB PVC tube antenna crapped out and I put the small one that came with the Alpha on the end of the 25' cable and taped it to the flag halyard. It worked OK but not as good as the 8DB tube one. I do know the antenna is as critical as the Alpha receiver. The one Alpha makes is probably as good as any. Here's one on Ebay

Perhaps Jon knows of a good antenna. He uses an Alpha in a complete kit he bought and I understand he's pretty happy with it.
