If so, how long does your ice last? Do you have much trouble finding block ice downeast? I'd like to configure my icebox to a size with enough insulation for say 30 pounds of ice to last a week in the Northeast. The same box could then likely be 3 blocks smaller and be efficient with refrigeration. You're really getting down in size then.

That worries me when say we stock up for a couple weeks and use the whole box we now have. I'm wondering if two small boxes, side by side inside my existing space, might be the best way to go.
