maybe I should be. We have great heat in the boat, September and October in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia weren't too bad. Far more comfortable than the Chesapeake in August, in my opinion!
Where do I find the current conditions for depth on the IWC? There seems to be some piecemeal data from oldish surveys on various bits of Army Corps websites, but surely there is a website of reference for the ICW somewhere by someone? Heights of bridges too?
A guy I talked to here who has done the trip a few times says that through maybe mid December there are weather windows to go offshore to the eastern Bahamas, after that the fronts start coming through too quick.
Another consideration is that the wife would kind of like to see the outer banks, Charleston, etc.; I'm not completely convinced they will be worth the trouble but maybe? which means hopping down the coast.
