Alright, thanks for all this advice! I think I am learning...

I am really only beginning to get a grip on the names and geography. I am told that on the Atlantic east coast, there is a big change in weather and temps in a fairly short distance going south from Hatteras. The wife isn't going to like icicles on the lifelines, for sure! The pilot charts for wind and gales don't seem to look much different for Nov - Jan in this part of the world.

As I study this is seems more likely that we might hop down the coast/ICW to around Savannah, just to see it for what it probably the only time I will ever be there. Savannah to the Southeastern islands vs Beaufort is only 30 miles different. But 20 degrees different wind angle.

I did plan to go to the southern islands first - better to do this by shooting for Marsh harbor first and then continue?
