The charts show the channel down to 4.5 feet on the east side of Roanoke - isn't that a little thin for a 6.5' draft? I'm pretty sure my 64'3" mast isn't going under the 44' bridge on the west side. There doesn't seem to be enough tide to make much of a difference either.
On the other hand I would rather chance hanging up in the mud than chance knocking the Wilkerson bridge down. I'm not sure exactly what happens when an unstayed carbon mast hits a bridge girder, but I'm quite sure I would rather not know . I had a plan at one time during the construction to put a video camera at the mast head, but it was one of those things that didn't get done.
