Compromise

() It's a cruising tri. Not an all-out racing design. The spreaders are aluminum. The steel is pretty artful work, but the steel on the mast weighs more than the CF mast itself. This is a 2001 boat. The newer models are built lighter. It's a 56.5 foot spar, and is still light enough (even with the steel) for two people to carry, or one person to lift one end without problem.
