Exactly... What's really disappointing about that layout, with all that beam amidships...

Hi Max,

...is that it could easily accommodate a pair of Pilot Berths outboard of those settees... You know, those antiquated things that boats designed to race to Bermuda USED TO have, like Tom's boat has, and would afford the most comfortable off-watch sleeping to be found on such a boat...

Such an arrangement would bring the settees closer together, lose all that wasted space, afford the opportunity to have a big drop leaf table with seating on both sides...

Damn, Tripp really needs to take another look at the Bermuda 40, lots of features that have stood the test of time could have been incorporated into this one...

Looking at this again, it appears there actually is a dedicated nav station, port side just forward of the quarter stateroom? With pilot berths, you could also lose one of those staterooms, turn it into a sail locker/garage... I look at a boat like this, try to picture a crew of 6 or 8 racing to Bermuda, and the first thing I wonder, is where are they gonna stow all their STUFF?

Enjoy the show, Max - sounds like the weather should improve... Seen anything interesting this year?

best regards,

Jon
