HEGIRA, 'Journey to a better place', is a broad definition of the word. 
Good boat name, easy to say (pronounced Heg or Hej-ira). At first I thought it a little lofty for a Friendship sloop, the hard knuckle working lobsterboats on the coast of Maine before the advent of the internal combustion engine. Then on second thought, 'Journey to a better place' is a perfect description of a working boat. EDYTHE and AGNES?
