One last thought about the repair
In Response To: how does she sail? ()

Since the area is so small....about fifteen inches across and almost round, and the core is definitely crushed. I can knock on the hull and get a "hollow" sound where the deflection is. What would be wrong with trying to repair it this way? I drill two half inch holes in the area, one at the top, one at the bottom. The bottom would just be to see if anything drained out. I have a feeling it's just crushed, not waterlogged due to how the deflection was caused...by a stanchion. If there is no drainage and the balsa is just crushed, why couldn't I just take a large tube of 5200 and fill the entire area from the top hole? It cures underwater faster than in the air, it's flexible, it's very strong and the only function is to fill the void and add some strength back to the area. What do you think of this idea?
