I have the Navionics US + Canada on my iPhone

It was recommended by a couple friends and some folks here. I think I paid around $50 for it a couple years ago. Looks like they now offer a US lakes and coast version for $10. You're correct, it's very handy in the dinghy and skiff. It brought us right to the dock at Mosiers I. a few foggy mornings last spring when we were working on a camp. There are probably some decent free nav apps now but this is what I use. A related app anchor watch called Drag Queen looks useful. I haven't used it yet, I just like the name.

MotionX-GPS is handy when hiking ashore. The NWS mobile weather app and a weather radar app get a lot of use aboard as well as the camera. I'm still amazed at the quality of the photos this silly little device can take.
