Larry had a number that align with mine. You CAN have too many. Often I forget I have an app and use a website. Those that are on top of things technologically usually remind me that I already have an app and ask if they should open that.
For iOS, for me:
Charts & Tides with off-line ActiveCaptain - this product works well and continues to work when you don't have a cell signal. Note that the GPS in an iPhone is turned on and off with the cell radios so offshore the cell radios are burning through the battery looking for a signal. I've written Apple asking for a way (like WiFi in airplane mode) to turn GPS on with the cell radios off. More importantly I know Jeff Siegel has made the same request. Get a 12V USB charger. I did use Charts & Tides when the electronics failed on an offshore delivery. Screen size made some things fussy but we found Tortola. *grin*
Dragqueen - I have it and use it sometimes, but usually I just run Charts & Tides zoomed all the way in with tracking turned on. Very clear if you're dragging.
Yelp - more and more useful for goods and services well beyond the original restaurants.
Larry uses Spyglass; I use Theodolite Free for hand bearing compass.
I get weather and buoy data from websites on the phone, so Safari must be a navigation app. *grin* I use aprs.fi for AIS - latency is less than marinetraffic.com and it makes more sense to me than iAIS.
