PVC beadboard

There were a lot of good reasons for me to use beadboard. Unlike starboard, caulk, adhesives and paint will stick to it. It's extremely easy to saw with a jigsaw. It will never rot or need painting if you like satin finished white. It also comes in 8' lengths and one of the next jobs I will be doing is replacing the old vinyl covered Masonite ceiling with it. It will look a lot like the ceiling of a Shannon. I'll periodically use teak strips for accent pieces and to hide the joints. Granted, it's not real teak stripping but I think it looks very salty, it's cheap and moisture is not a factor.
