New thing I didn't realize I would want
5-8 pound danforth style
For the Sea of Cortez
Ditto the small Bruce
5/16 chain on your dink... really?
5/16" stainless - I had it already
Another ditto for the small bruce.
#3 for the Bruce. I also used a Bruce on my previous boat, and on Tehani (bigger ones of course)
3lb Danforth, 50' nylon rode, no chain. Saved my bacon many times.

Steve, I love the 40' shock cord idea!
Yeah, me too. I can think of MANY dinghy docks in South Fla
Well, I'm glad I could pass that along. I
Taming shock cord
I learned this trick from a friend
So I am trying to wrap my head around this...
Gene, first of all I like the idea of covering the cord like Cole suggests
I just wanted to ensure that the shock cord is NOT the main connection...
no - shock cord is inside the rope
Larry, I like this idea. It's taken 25 years
I think Mark deserves the credit
I just ordered some 3/16 shock cord
You water ski behind your tri?
That angle of pull is a bit high, eh?
BTW the wake
I'm not sure ski rope will work
No, the sock cord is strong enough
OK... but seems kinda gutsy to depend on a shock cord...
Don't forget that the dinghy is always connected at two ends.
The main security is the dinghy painter
What are you using for a dinghy painter
Our painter is 20' 5/8" bridle line
the same thing can also be accomplished with regular line...
There's a Fortress Commando Kit
Thank You all!
Make sure you keep your body clear of the line, too ;^)))
I have an 11lb Claw Bruce type / Lewmar … Overkill for sure, however ...
Thanks John that is exactly the use I am talking about.
