Steel used in that application isn't a problem

for the manufacturer because it will most likely last a year or two before giving YOU the problem. Besides, little things like that don't usually bother you until "Peppers Corollary" comes into play. I modified my answering post to Gerne and added it but I'll mention it to you as well. "Pepper's Corollary" states that "you're in deep shit when your boat length is exceeded by the wind strength by 5 knots". That's when those pesky little steel bolts will let go or that undersized shackle will come apart and really round out your day.
