Actually my engine control panel is located as high as possible in the cockpit... but it is NOT covered by anything... I have been thinking of a plexiglass cover. Right now it only has a series of metal bars protecting it. If the water is that high, I am in big trouble, as water is likely then squeezing through the hatch boards. I have a bridge deck, but it is only about 8-10 inches or so high, and I have small cockpit drains... about 2 1/2 inches in diameter... probably not a great combination.
But I do still want to protect the engine control panel more than it is now. I only need key and button access... I may do so with a small rotating opening in a plexi cover.
Pepper's Corollary means I am in trouble in Gale force winds... which what I have long figured anyway. ROUGH GRIN. First reef goes in at 15, second at about 22. I've been out in stronger winds, but not in my boat.
