The USCG video shows one of the roughest seastate I've noticed from a video of a "lift-out"

If it looked like that from there, I can only imagine the frothy, cold, salty waves at the water.
Amazing to be taking any boat out in that stretch of water, this time of year, and in a pinched weather situation. Short windows at best. They got the worst of it.
As for the USCG, while you can say what you might about them -- when the shit hits the fan, you're not going to depend on "Ghost Busters". Amazing rescues they do.
