Time switched in, ah, time to a painting.

Which was not unusual for them back then. You really studied these photos!
I think the "longer lens" shot is just a crop. The angle of view of a telephoto lens works out to be the same as a crop from a wider lens (from the same position). The background would be more out of focus with a telephoto lens, too. The CW is more contrasty and is also credited only to Billy. The SAIL one came from Morris (with credit) but has a lot more shadow on the deckhouse. Lightening the exposure and opening up the shadows killed the contrast and burned out the highlights. So I'll go with the CW version, but then I always printed Tri-X with a #3 polycontrast filter.
