I HATE them
In Response To: Dripless Shaft Seals - Heads up ()
I would never own one on a boat. I know of 2 boats that have come to serious harm with them. And NONE with the standard packing that has been around for 100 years.

- How does one inspect these dripless systems?
- A friend just finished PR to Maine, and their 18 month old shaft seal failed.
- US Navy uses them on submarines.
