We had a button stick. On our electric I had the buttons installed so you could push it with your big toe leaving both hands free. Perfect for the configuration of our boat and worked beautifully, only problem was that the rubber cover on the button must have moved or stretched a bit after time and it stuck. I think that it was caused by the fact that when you used your toe you pushed the button in but also pushed the rubber slightly down. It was an Antal winch with Harkin buttons. Since new I was suspicious of the quality of the plastic Harkin buttons and wanted to change over to Antal which appeared much better quality.
A really weird and scarry experience when the button stuck. After that I wanted to add a Panic Button but never did, just replaced the switch.
