Reminds me of the adage: schedules sink more boats than anything else.
The decision to go in the face of issues is a difficult one. A professional captain feels obligated to to do what he was hired to do, he may do something he would never would have done on his own boat.
We just lost a 7?? foot freighter and 33 souls because the captain chose to go into a tropical storm that escalated to a hurricane.
How many times have we gone out in marginal weather for an afternoon sail because we had friends coming?
