Herb McCormicks four part essay is now on line
It's a fairly remarkably piece on many levels
Thanks, Doug. Very well written article.
That's a great read - honest and introspective. Thanks for sharing.
I too pushed my limits meeting family flying in to Portland in iffy weather ( I'm a coastal cruiser
LOL! I chatted briefly with Mark Pillsbury (editor of CW) aboard the new Hunter 47 in Annapolis...
What's your problem with that cleat. Jon?

Good point. Maybe it's really intended for a stern anchor on a very short rode?
In a different "context"
No doubt those from Nautor are pretty slick, I haven't seen them...
And, how's this for an example of 'Attention to Detail' on the part of a Boat Show Exhibitor...?
I have to cut them some slack. That happens every other year on my boat.
Bad design, not just improper set-up from the boat show. ;^)))

What goes in that very shallow stern slot under the cockpit?
Your guess is as good as mine, Steve...
Must be push-button steering on that thing too.
The writer is diplomatic, but he doesn't leave much out.
I was struck by how much time was spent fixing electronics
Great read...

That was Charlie Doane of SAIL, not Herb, who was aboard that Alpha 42...
Oops, my bad! That was Charlie Doane of SAIL, not Herb, who was aboard that Alpha 42...
Charlies most recent post about Annapolis show is hilarious...
I enjoyed his report on the show. Seeing those boats, I think I must be living under a rock up here,

Maybe our 'wow factor' meters are broken up here.
For instance, this photo on Wavetrain...
That's a roller furler up there (it's the only real clue)
I wasn't sure that was on this boat. So this must be the first 'dry' sailing boat?
