Carbide tipped bandsaw blades are expensive. $136.00 for my saw.
In Response To: Bi-Metal Blades ()

I was in a friends shop where several furniture designer/builders have studios, and she was showing me the stock she resawed with one of these blades.

She was slicing strips about 3/32nd of an inch thick by 3-4 inches wide of hardwood for a project. Not only perfectly uniform, the strips looked like they had been through a planer. She recommended I buy one of these.

But after this project, I doubt I'll be doing that much demanding resawing so I skipped paying for one. Also, her shop had a multi thousand dollar bandsaw and miles of wood to cut.
