Another thing....

When the boat is out of the water, do NOT keep it on concrete or asphalt or in a heated garage/building. It is best to keep it over dirt, gravel of grass that you can moisten down periodically. Do keep it under cover but NOT in a heated building unless you have to to work on it. IF you keep it inside over concrete and with heat expect it to leak a LOT on launch since the wood will dry out significantly during dry heated storage. three years ago I had Tortuga in the shop for two months to rebuild the cabin house. By the end of the two months you could see light through the seams.

If you decide that you need to recaulk use only cotton on a boat like that. Pay the seams with the "white" topsides compound if you are a woodie purist. If you want to minimize leaking you can pay the seams with 4200 when/if you recaulk.
