Worked on a wood rim wheel about 15 yrs ago. Rim was laminated from strips. Spokes were CF golf club shafts. The extra length was cut off the skinny end and epoxied into the fat end for extra strength in the hub. Hub was two disks of G10, bored for the spokes.
