Has anyone had experience using spectra or other hi mod line, Dux or Amsteel for example, for a staysail stay? Thinking of use w/ either a highfield lever, wichard gizmo, or, thinking of cost, just a large turnbuckle. Would be great to be able to bring back to the mast just like a halyard, w/o the hassle of wire.

Thinking 12mm covered spectra or amsteel might have enough abrasion resistance, even w/ bronze hanks instead of the 'soft hanks'.
