Look at Wichard snap hanks instead of traditional piston hanks (nm)
We changed our 750 sq ft reacher to bronze Wichard hanks and like them (nm)
They are a bit difficult to work since there is zero stretch in the line. (pic)

Just a suggestion, but I bet you could get a lot of tension with a Spanish windlass
before wire, every boat was rigged with rope. It's nice to see old school technology still being used today... (link)

What's wrong with a nice 4-1 amsteel tackle to tension it? Hell it's alot easier to deal with than tightening a trnbkl .
