have gone back to bedding deck fittings with Dolphinite bedding compound. I have had trouble keeping fitting from developing leaks over, what I feel, are short periods of time. Lifeline stantion bases that were bedded in 5200 2 years ago are starting to leak. These are fittings where I counter sunk the deck to form "O" rings around the bolts. I cleaned the surfaces and did every thing I could do to have a good, long term seal. Fitting that I used Dolphinite on 5 years ago are still holding up fine. I bedded all of my port lites, travelers and some cleats with the stuff and not a leak among them. The proof is in the pudding so I'm going back to the old ways...days. :-)
