about three hundred pounds, right, Tom?
I haven't given up yet! (In fact, yesterday, I got some very good tips from a local mechanic on how to use the heat gun thermometer, but it needs to be done while underway, which I can't get around to until this weekend...today, finally, I'll check to be sure the temp gauge is actually working properly. While underway, I need to eheck temp on (1) thermostat; (2) raw water in and out at heat exchanger; and (3) side of block. This should help ascertain if thermostat is opening properly/enough; raw water flow is sufficient to cool the heat exchanger; and if fresh water circulation pump is OK. Then what'll I do...why, I'll take the entire cooling system apart, clean it all, re-assemble, change coolant, and it all should work. The temp gun is a just a big delaying tactic for the inevitable dismantling and cleaning of the whole system (grin)...
