First -- I don't believe the boat would weigh it's "displacement" if you put it on an underwater scale, after sinking it. I think logically it would be "underwater weight=(mass of boat materials)-(mass of water displaced by volume of those materials)".

I don't have time today to research this nor do I care enough to try my own scientific experiments. Can you point to some 3rd party material substantiating your position on this?
