There were a lot of broken jaws and even some lost lives before the invention of the electric starter. I read a story about Henry Leland that had a friend who was killed from the kick back on a hand crank starter and then decided that all Cadillacs from then on would have an electric starter (Leland was head of Cadillac at the time).
Jon, how is your motor repair/replacement going?
