() I have had very positive experiences checking in with CBP in both Beaufort NC and Norfolk (actually Little Creek) VA. In both cases I called the 800 number after taking a slip. Both offices said that would send someone to meet us. The Beaufort office confirmed that we were flying a Q flag and volunteered that it sure makes it easier for the CBP officer to find us. The Beaufort office even gave us permission to leave the boat for shore showers pending their arrival.
