In Response To: A decent generator has circuit breakers on each of its outlets

() ... for the house wiring between the connection point and the house breaker. If generator's breaker is set for 20A and the house wiring is rated for 15A, if the load on that circuit got too high it could cause a fire. If the load was too high on other circuits the 15A house breaker on the circuit powered by the generator would trip.
