I agree. The 120v breakers on my generator are 15A anyway

which means any modern wiring of 14AWG or thicker should be adequate, and you need to consider the possibility of a short -- the breaker should be the sacrificial link. UL-approved AC switches and outlets are at least 15A. The 240V breaker is 20A, and that should be safe for any 240 volt house wiring.
