So what you guys are saying is that if you lose power you can by switching off the main breaker in the main panel; you can then plug in a lead from a generator into any outlet in the house and it will supply power to all the stuff on that circuit. Kind of a backward feed into the circuit?? Do I have that right???

Second the issue of overload from the generator to the wires in the house..can it be solved by adding a XX amp circuit breaker in the male/male pig tail you make to do this???

Third would it make sense for those in areas prone to electrical outages to make a pigtail that splices into the their furnace, as most are hardwired, and just let it hang there until needed? and another into the circuit that the frig is on??? or gas hot water heater's electrical ignitor ..etc. etc.
