I'm sure it gets forced into bends that put stress on fittings and cause leaks. If you really try to bend it beyond the few degrees it will yield, you can kink it.

Have you tried any of this more expensive hose I've linked Ronald? It's more flexible, very expensive but you only a short piece. It's best to avoid the elbows if you can but they're better than breaking fittings.
